(oda nods and stiffly turns on his heel to walk back out into the hallway. his security sweep should only take ten, fifteen minutes given the inherent security of the estate. he slides the door shut behind him and begins his rounds and to make sure hanako does not require anything of him before she retires herself.
oda could makes excuses. lots of them, and many valid. but he is yet a man with desires, needs. though generally repressed, would it be so shameful to see what sombra has in mind? she is certainly pleasing to look at and their conversation in the car had been pleasant enough. for once could he permit himself?)
[ Sombra watches him leave, sighing a little after the door slides. There is no clean way to explain her treatment of him; it's part game and part nerves. Not that Oda isn't attractive on his own, but she can't help the impulse to push and see what she can get away with being in new territory.
Taking Oda's advice, she has a quick shower, letting the warmth take some of her tension away.]
(as expected (but not guaranteed) the estate is secure and oda's rounds go smoothly. he finds hanako reading in her room and is dismissed for the evening.
when he returns to the guest room, oda hesitates at the door. he should tell her that it is improper, sombra being a guest and a contracted hire. the job must take precedence. or he could turn back and retreat to his own quarters and avoid it all together. and yet he opens the door and steps inside.)
[Sombra turns her attention from her own reading and smiles, a little surprised. She's decent, wrapped in a robe in lieu of having anything to change into. Her hair is still damp, coiled into a low bun to keep it neat.
This is dangerous, but she can't find it in herself to care.]
Do you still need sleep clothes? (he asks, clearly adamant about not making eye contact given her state of undress. oda walks over to a dresser against the far wall and opens a drawer, producing a clean black t-shirt and a pair of arasaka-branded sweatpants. he offers them to sombra, his gaze still firmly averted.)
[Sombra rises and follows to collect the clothing, making sure to stay at the edge of his personal space. She tilts her head to try and catch his gaze, smirking a little as she does so.]
You are not properly dressed. (he accidentally makes eye contact and his discomfort is almdishonorable. it is not even a sexy robe but it is the principle! and that sombra likely wears nothing underneath.) I do not wish to act dishonorably.
[Sombra smiles at him, eyes glinting with amusement as he questions her. It does nothing for his perception of her, she's sure, but it's almost funny how he swings between being so cute and so grumpy.]
I'm not mocking you. [She looks him over again, sighing a little.]
(he gives sombra a skeptical look; it certainly feels like he is being mocked.)
As I said, I do not get that sort of attention. (a pause as oda considers the degree of blunt he should be.) I was mistakenly curious as to what all your signals actually meant.
[Sombra carefully steps close enough to touch but far enough to let him make the choice to close the distance.]
I wasn't sure what to expect, considering the situation. [More than that, honestly but it was already a gamble to say this much.] Hoping for a kiss, though.
Good. [Despite herself, her answering smile is bright and pleased. She plays at being unfettered but the truth is she is lonely too. It's something they have in common, she suspects.]
A deal is a deal. [She takes the offered clothing at last.] I'll go change.
(sombra's smile goes a long way towards making oda glad he had not denied her. oda nods, shooing her with one hand to the bathroom while he finds a seat.)

Are you alright?

You sure you don't want to sit for a sec? You've been turning pink on and off all night.
no subject
This may come as a surprise to you, Sombra, but I do not receive much female attention.
no subject
I think a couple probably gave up watching you pretend to be oblivious.

You just act like I'm going to bite you in a bathrobe.

You have been flirting most of the evening. For what purpose? To mock me now?
no subject
I'm not mocking you. [She looks him over again, sighing a little.]
Tell me why you came back.

oda leans in and slants his lips against sombra's. he tries not to make it too quick but he does not linger, either.)
How is that?
no subject
Not bad.
[She considers for a moment, smiling.]
If I change into the sleep clothes, will you stay a little longer?
no subject
I should not, (he cautions, saying it aloud for himself more than for her. and somehow oda finds himself not leaving.)
no subject
Stay.
no subject
...I will stay.

A deal is a deal. [She takes the offered clothing at last.] I'll go change.
